Need some editing done?
Bring it on. I would love to work with you as a team to help make your manuscript shine. Whether you require content editing, basic editing, proofreading, critique reading, or beta reading, I would love to help you make your story what you dream it to be. Listed below, you will find the genres I will edit and my rates for each, along with what each service includes. Please read them closely and determine which type of editing is right for you.

Critique Reading $65 up to 40,000 words, $100 up to 75,000 words, $125 for over 75,000 words
This is where I sit down to enjoy your book and, instead, tear it apart. I will give you everything but the kitchen sink. As I read, I take notes of character development, plot, and continuity/flow. (Grammar and punctuation are not looked at during this stage as this should be done before editing, that way you can make any major changes before those final stages.) You will get my opinion on the readiness of your story, what your selling point is, where you can and can’t improve, and what kind of editing your story will need. There’s no need to pay more for a service than you need to.
Content Editing $0.004 per word
Includes grammar, spelling, punctuation, subject/verb agreement, transitional phrasing, continuity/flow, and fact checking. With content editing, you will see sentence rewrites or restructuring where needed, and I review the plot and character development with you.
Basic Editing $0.0035 per word
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, subject/verb agreement, transitional phrasing, and continuity/flow.
Proofreading $0.0028 per word
Spelling, grammar, punctuation, subject/verb agreement.
Not sure what kind of editing you need? I recommend a critique read and content editing for new authors who don’t have a lot of experience with writing. Doing these two things could drastically improve your manuscript and raise your chances of success. Even if you choose someone else to edit for you, these are two steps you do not want to skip. Once you have your feet wet and feel more comfortable with your skill level, basic editing or even proofreading may be all that you need. The decision is completely yours to make.
During the editing process, all changes are tracked with comments in the margins. It is ultimately your decision to accept those changes or deny them. This is your book, your baby, and my only intention is to work with you to make it as beautiful as you see it in your mind and easily understood by your readers. I also suggest having a proofreader lined up to review all final edits. Feel free to stay in contact with me during the editing process via email, phone, or Facebook chat.
When you contact me please list the following information:
Author name
Genre
The kind of editing you need
A date you have in mind for your editing
If you have a deadline
Synopsis or summary of your work in progress
I will get in contact with you to let you know if I’m interested in your manuscript and if I’m available during the time you allotted. I always offer a sample edit for those who are new to me so we can both see if we will be a good fit for one another.
Thanks for your interest, and congratulations on your future book.
